The large willow oak tree standing in the middle of the 17th fairway, which has defined the hole for the last 25 years, was lost in a storm last summer. In its absence, the challenge of choosing to hit the ball to the right or left of the tree was lost, so the course has planted a new 45-foot Armstrong red maple in its place.
