Good leadership can come in many forms, but one shared characteristic of any successful industry leader is their ability to make meaningful connections with both employees and those they serve alike. Our Executives of the Year celebrates those in South Jersey who lead by example, empower their teams, and devise strategic approaches to create sustained growth and continued opportunity. 

Donna B. Raziano, MD, MBA, FACP, AGSF, Network Medical Director, AmeriHealth
Dr. Raziano is a clinical care transformation physician responsible for collaborating with primary care providers, accountable care organizations (ACOs) and health systems to drive improved performance in support of the Quintuple Aim: cost efficiency, quality of care, improved member and provider experience and health equity. After earning degrees from La Salle University and Creighton University School of Medicine, Dr. Raziano followed in her mother’s footsteps, pursuing a specialty in geriatrics. She completed an internship at Jefferson University and a fellowship at The University of Pennsylvania Health System and earned her M.B.A. at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Board certified in internal medicine, geriatric medicine, and hospice and palliative care, Dr. Raziano has been in population health medical leadership roles since 2005, with a specialty in the LIFE/PACE (program of all-inclusive care for the elderly) programs and home health. She is active with the American Geriatrics Society, American College of Physicians and the National PACE Association. Dr. Raziano has received recognition for delivering patient-centered, compassionate and high-quality care that provides each of her patients with respect, understanding and undivided attention.

Karyn Holley, Vice President of Corporate Compliance, Inspira Health

Health care has been an interest for Holley since she was young. After graduating from Penn State University with a bachelor’s in nursing, she completed her master’s in health administration from Saint Joseph’s University while practicing med-surge, maternity, home care and dialysis nursing in Pennsylvania and Connecticut. After working in health care risk management, she transitioned to compliance leadership in Georgia. Holley returned to South Jersey and has provided compliance leadership to the acute care, home health and hospice, and third-party insurance administration sectors. She currently serves as the health care compliance and ethics lead at Inspira Health. Holley served as an inaugural advisory board member for the Penn State Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee-College of Nursing and has authored articles published in Compliance Today, Healthcare Business Review and Healthcare Tech Outlook magazines. Holley loves health care compliance because it is a unique field that ties the standards of care to laws, regulations and industry standards, keeping our health care systems safe, of superior quality and adhering to the adhering to the principles of legality, ethics and accountability.

Kristina Kohl, MBA, PMP, Managing Principal, HRComputes
HRComputes focuses on people strategy and program implementation using technology and change, program and project management. Kohl provides advisory guidance for people management digital solution selection, client-side implementation and optimization. She brings executive business management experience from the corporate and not-for-profit worlds, including her role as vice president and manager at JPMorgan Chase. Her academic experience includes serving as the building sustainable organizations professor for the Bard MBA in sustainability. She is the author of Becoming a Sustainable Organization and Driving Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Kohl is also a frequent speaker at conferences and events, having engaged audiences at PMI Global Congress EMEA, Society for Human Resource Management, the Wharton School, Boston University as well as other industry groups. She has served on a number of nonprofit boards and was awarded the 2022 Flourish Prize for Business as an Agent of World Benefit by AIM2Flourish for her work with students on the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals. She was named a 2020 Beacon ICON Award recipient and appeared in South Jersey Biz’s 2020 Women to Watch List.

Anne Koons, Owner, Vineland Construction
Throughout more than 39 years as a realtor at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach in Cherry Hill, Koons has earned a multitude of accolades, including achieving the Platinum Level of the NJ Realtors Circle of Excellence Sales Award. She has been a consistent presence in the Chairman’s Circle and President’s Club, in the NJAR Silver Million Dollar Club and in the NJAR Circle of Excellence, and has achieved the prestigious NJ State Distinguished Million Dollar Sales Club. In addition to her successful career in residential real estate, Koons owns Vineland Construction Co. LLC, overseeing a real estate portfolio of office buildings, warehouses, industrial and specialized facilities, commercial retail centers and stores as the company continues to acquire, develop, construct and manage properties across the United States. She is a member of the Cooper Hospital Foundation Board and has been actively involved with the Jewish Federation and various Jewish charities throughout South Jersey and Palm Beach, Florida. What’s more, she has organized the St. Joe Pro Cathedral in Camden Christmas Party for over a decade.

Aaron Chang, FACHE, President, Jefferson Health – East Region
Chang brings vast experience from the academic, nonprofit and private sectors to his role at Jefferson and since joining the provider in 2023, he has been dedicated to advancing community health and driving strategic growth in New Jersey. In his role, Chang oversees the operations and vision for Jefferson’s three acute care hospitals in Cherry Hill, Stratford and Washington Township—each recognized among the top 10 hospitals in New Jersey by U.S. News & World Report and awarded prestigious “A” grades by the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Report. Under his leadership, Jefferson Health has made significant investments to improve patient access and enhance care throughout South Jersey, including the development of state-of-the-art medical oncology and radiation oncology suites at the Cherry Hill campus and a modern multi-specialty outpatient center in Washington Township. Prior to Jefferson, Chang served as president of Sisters of Charity Hospitals and Central Market Leader at Catholic Health in New York, where he spearheaded initiatives such as the opening of a Chemical Dependency Treatment Center to address the opioid epidemic, earning state recognition for emergency preparedness during the COVID-19 pandemic, and launching the hospital’s first Inclusion and Belonging committee.

Scott England, AIA, Founding Member & Angelo P. Butera, AIA, LEED AP, Founding Member, RYEBREAD Architects
England and Butera are both licensed architects, planners and interior designers who are also founding principals of RYEBREAD Architects in Mount Holly. Known for creating buildings such as the Pemberton Library and the recently opened Lindenwold Early Childhood Center, England is a longtime Tabernacle resident with professional expertise in design, project administration and CPTED-an architectural strategy that “naturally” reduces the incidence and fear of crime, often at lower implementation and operational costs then more technological approaches. Meanwhile, Butera is an Evesham resident who had a hand in several building projects, including at Fort Dix Elementary and the former Mount Holly Yamaha. His areas of expertise include construction documents, ADA building and green design. His commitment to sustainable design has impacted RYEBREAT clients’ buildings, creating more effective, healthy and comfortable environements for them live, work and succeed. A father of four, England served as president of the Seneca Youth Football League and is a graduate of Louisiana State University and Pemberton High School. A father of two, Butera has served as president of the Marlton Rotary and the Githens Center and is a graduate of Temple University and Wissahickon High School.

Loretta Winters, President, Gloucester County NAACP
Winters is a powerful voice for the voiceless and a tireless advocate for equity, justice and community empowerment. As president of the Gloucester County NAACP and former 2nd vice president of the NAACP New Jersey State Conference, she has led with conviction, compassion and an unwavering commitment to civil rights. She also serves as board chair of First Harvest Credit Union, where her leadership continues to build bridges and dismantle barriers that divide communities. A consummate servant leader, Winters has dedicated her life to advancing political, educational, social and economic equality for all. Her advocacy spans critical issues including education reform, environmental justice and women’s rights. Winters’ other notable accomplishments include serving on the 2018 New Jersey Governor’s Transition Team, founding the first and only NAACP College Foundation at Rowan College of South Jersey and launching New Jersey’s first NAACP High School Chapter in Deptford. Her legacy is honored through “Winters’ Cove,” an eight-and-a-half-acre park named in her recognition, and by Congressman Robert Andrews, who declared Dec. 14 as “Loretta Winters Day” throughout New Jersey’s 1st Congressional District.

Anita Wemple, President & CEO, Community Planning and Advocacy Council
Wemple has 25-plus years of experience in nonprofit administration and services. A licensed social worker, she worked as director of Union Industrial Home for Children with teen moms and their babies in Trenton. She served 10 years at Rutgers-New Brunswick as a training coordinator for over 5,000 DYFS case workers with the NJ Child Welfare Training Partnership, and transferred to Rutgers-Camden to build relationships and lead programs with the Camden City community. Wemple served as senior program coordinator for The Center for Nonprofit Management and Governance; led Transitions for Youth as program development specialist at Rutgers-Camden, School of Social Work; and worked with the NJ Division of Child Protection and Permanency to develop programming for aging-out foster care youth attending post-secondary institutions. Wemple then served at Isles Youth Institute in Trenton as principal/director of programming for youth ages 16-24 to achieve their high school diploma, job training/placement and leadership skills. Wemple joined Community Planning and Advocacy Council in October 2022 as COO, and became president/CEO in January of 2023.

Dawn Moskalow, Chief Operating Officer, Grungo Law
Moskalow is an accomplished legal professional with a distinguished career spanning nearly three decades in the field of personal injury law. As the chief operating officer of Grungo Law, she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the firm’s leadership team. With a passion for justice and a commitment to advocating for the rights of injured individuals, Moskalow began her career as a plaintiff’s personal injury paralegal. Over the years, she honed her skills and developed a deep understanding of the complexities of personal injury cases. Her dedication to her clients and unwavering pursuit of justice have been the driving forces behind her successful career. As the COO of Grungo Law—a firm that prioritizes open, honest and responsive communication with clients who are often suffering through a traumatic period—Moskalow plays a pivotal role in the firm’s operations, ensuring that the highest standards of legal representation are upheld. Her extensive background in personal injury law, coupled with her leadership acumen, makes her an invaluable asset to the firm and a trusted advocate for those seeking justice.

Michael P. Snyder, Director of Operations, Visit South Jersey
For more than two decades, Snyder has combined his graceful leadership style and marketing expertise to meet the evolving needs of his clients and the organizations he serves. As managing partner of Spark Creative Group, he oversees major government, tourism and arts accounts. In 2018, Snyder was appointed director of operations for Visit South Jersey, the destination marketing organization for Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties, as well as the Outer Coastal Plain Wine Region. Having long managed the account, his role expanded to include operations, strategic planning, special events and stakeholder engagement. Working alongside a volunteer board of directors, he partners with state, county and local governments, chambers of commerce and tourism businesses to elevate South Jersey as a premier destination—driving awareness, tourism spending and economic growth. Since 2021, he has also served on the executive committee of the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association, collaborating with statewide leaders to spotlight New Jersey for both domestic and international travelers. Beyond tourism, Snyder contributes his time to community and cultural organizations, including serving on the board of Symphony in C. 

Cheryl Norton, Executive Vice President & COO, American Water
Norton is responsible for the successful performance of American Water’s regulated state subsidiaries. She also leads customer service across the company’s footprint, as well as system-wide engineering, health and safety, and environmental and regulatory compliance. Previously, Norton served as president of New Jersey American Water, where she was the principal external contact for American Water in New Jersey, serving approximately 2.8 million people. Additionally, she served as senior vice president of the company’s eastern division, which was comprised of New Jersey, New York, Virginia and Maryland. Norton was also the company’s chief environmental officer, overseeing environmental leadership and compliance across American Water’s national footprint. She has also served as president of Missouri American Water and Kentucky American Water. Norton serves on the boards of the Cooper Health System and The Water Research Foundation. She received a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in environmental studies from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.

Samantha DeAlmeida Roman, President, Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC)
Roman is President of the Associated Builders and Contractors, New Jersey Chapter (ABC New Jersey). ABC is a national association representing more than 23,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms in 68 chapters across the United States. ABC New Jersey’s membership represents all specialties within the construction industry and is comprised primarily of firms that perform work in the industrial and commercial sectors. ABC New Jersey is the largest ABC Chapter with over 1,600 member companies, and Roman is the youngest ABC Chapter President in the country. Before joining ABC New Jersey, Roman served as the New Jersey government relations director for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, where she worked with stakeholders across the political spectrum to achieve legislative support for the organization’s key initiatives, resulting in several bills being signed into law by Gov. Phil Murphy. She is a graduate of Monmouth University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and master’s degrees in homeland security and public policy and is widely recognized as one of New Jersey’s most influential young professionals.

Carol Voorhees, President and CEO, NJM Insurance Group
Voorhees has served as president and chief executive officer at NJM since August and leads the commercial and personal lines of business for one of the region’s leading property and casualty insurers. She joined NJM in 1996 and steadily assumed roles of increasing responsibility. Voorhees was instrumental in creating a project management process and led several strategic technology upgrades at the company. In 2018, she became senior vice president and chief information officer, and she was named executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2024. Voorhees graduated from Thomas Edison State University with a B.S. in organizational leadership and earned an M.S. in insurance management from Boston University.

Jennifer Porter, Vice President and Executive Director, Adventure Aquarium
Since joining Adventure Aquarium in 2019, Porter has played an instrumental role in shaping its growth and reputation as one of the region’s most visited and beloved attractions. Under her leadership, the aquarium has deepened its commitment to conservation, education and community engagement, welcoming thousands of visitors each year to experience awe-inspiring encounters with aquatic life from around the world. As executive director, she oversees all aspects of operations—from guest experience and exhibit innovation to animal care and brand development—ensuring every visit reflects the aquarium’s mission to inspire positive change for all living beings.

James E. Johnston III, President, Agate Construction Company
Leading Agate Construction since 2004, Johnston III brings over three decades of experience in heavy highway and marine construction. He began at Agate in 1992, advancing through estimating, engineering and project management before becoming president. Known for hands-on leadership, he is a regular presence on job sites and actively engages with employees. His commitment to safety is unmatched—he participates in every training opportunity and was the only company owner to attend a recent Safety Leadership Forum. Agate’s safety record has consistently outperformed industry standards, with EMR ratings below national averages and fewer-than-one OSHA recordable incidents per year.

Jennifer Velez, EVP, Health & Network Solutions, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ
As Horizon’s executive vice president of health and network solutions, Velez is focused on improving health care access, quality and affordability. She leads multiple teams across the enterprise, including provider network management, quality and health equity, behavioral health, population health management, pharmacy, payment integrity, risk adjustment and clinical operations. Before joining Horizon, she was the CIO of Shatterproof—a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to transforming addiction treatment and reversing stigma. She has also served as an executive vice president of RWJBarnabas Health responsible for community and behavioral health and was the commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Human Services under former governors Chris Christie and Jon Corzine. She holds the distinction of being the state’s longest-serving human services commissioner.

Dr. Lovell Pugh-Bassett, President, Camden County College
When Dr. Pugh-Bassett became the sixth president of Camden County College on July 1, 2022, she brought with her not just a wealth of experience, but a philosophy rooted in purpose, advocacy and service. A lifelong educator and leader, her journey has spanned both higher education and K–12 systems, with stops at Temple University and the Community College of Philadelphia before two transformative decades with the New Jersey Department of Education. She returned to higher education as the vice president of institutional effectiveness, advancement and strategic initiatives at Camden County College, and in her current role she continues to view service as a privilege, not a duty.

William Hoffman, President and CEO, Hoffman’s Exterminating
Hoffman is the President and CEO of Hoffman’s Exterminating, a leading pest control company serving the Greater Philadelphia region and beyond. With over 30 years in the industry, he has built Hoffman’s into one of the most trusted names in pest management through a commitment to quality service, innovation and community involvement. Under his leadership, the company has expanded its residential, commercial and exclusion divisions, emphasizing long-term solutions that protect both customers and the environment. Beyond business, Hoffman is deeply dedicated to giving back—partnering with organizations like the Ronald McDonald House, For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation and numerous local youth programs. 

Marc Rubino, founder and CEO, Kings Ventures
Rubino is the CEO of Kings Ventures, a boutique investment firm that acquires and scales service-driven businesses across multiple industries. In addition, as CEO of Clark Services Group, a leader in facilities services across the Northeast, he oversees operations that keep hospitals and commercial properties clean, safe and compliant through innovative maintenance and air quality solutions. His company’s most recent acquisition, Royal Fitness, is a legacy South Jersey health club that Rubino is expanding into a full wellness campus. The project includes a new indoor turf training facility, a Reformer pilates studio, a 105° hot studio, and a recovery suite with cold plunge and sauna—transforming Royal Fitness into a destination that blends performance, recovery and community-centered wellness.

Jason Danowitz, Vice President of Event Technology, Starlite 
For more than three decades, Danowitz has been at the heart of Starlite’s growth, leading the Event Technology division with equal parts of passion and humility. Whether he’s in a financial meeting strategizing or on-site helping load out a show, Danowitz is always there. He leads by example, never hesitating to roll up his sleeves or lend a hand when needed. His leadership is defined by collaboration, trust, and an unwavering belief in the people around him. Under his guidance, Starlite’s event operations have evolved from modest beginnings into a thriving, large-scale division supporting corporate meetings, galas, trade shows and theatrical productions across the region.
