The All-South Jersey Girls’ Soccer Team
This was a great year for high school girls’ soccer in South Jersey, led by Paul VI, which went 24-0 and won its seconds straight Non-Public A state title.

Not surprisingly, Paul VI has several players honored on the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Association All-South Jersey teams.
Last week we ran the boys’ team and here are the All-SJ girls’ squads.

FIRST-TEAM
Forwards: Olivia Capecci, Delsea; Hunter Kintzing, Paul VI; Abbie Zubrzycki, Cherokee; Montgomery Draham, Sterling; Shilow Moore, Cinnaminson.

Forward of the Year: Olivia Capecci, Delsea. A senior, Capecci exploded for 43 goals and 16 assists for the Tri-County Conference Liberty Division champions. For her career she ended with 115 goals and 54 assists.

Midfielders: Emma McCarthy, Paul VI; Gianna Hanf, Northern Burlington; Paige Wagner, Cherokee; Julia Maher, Cherry Hill East; Brielle Von Colln, Egg Harbor Township; Kylie Berk, Paul VI; Alexis Varela, West Deptford.

Midfielder of the Year: Emma McCarthy, Paul VI. McCarthy was part of a Paul VI team that went 44-2-1 over the past two years in winning consecutive Non-Public A state titles. This season she totaled 19 goals and 10 assists. McCarthy scored the game-winner in Paul VI’s 3-double overtime win over Shawnee in the championship of the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Tournament. She is equally dominant in lacrosse and has accepted a lacrosse scholarship to the University of North Carolina.

Defenders: Avery Kornafel, Shawnee; Aubrey Dawicki, Cinnaminson; Ellia Oteri, Moorestown; Abby Mathis, Egg Harbor Township; McKenna Eaton, Williamstown.

Defender of the Year: Avery Kornafel, Shawnee. Kornafel was part of Shawnee’s Olympic Conference American Division and South Jersey Group 3 championships. In addition, Shawnee advanced to the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Association championship, losing 3-2 in double overtime to Paul VI, and to the state Group 3 final before falling, 3-2 also in double overtime to Chatham. A senior, Kornafel contributed seven goals and six assists. She also led a Shawnee defense that recorded 14 shutouts.

Goalies: Norah Quinn, Cinnaminson; Madison Sims, Sterling.

Goalie of the Year: Norah Quinn, Cinnaminson. Quinn helped lead Cinnaminson to a 17-4 record and the championship of the Burlington County Liberty Division, with a 6-0 mark. The Pirates also advanced to the semifinals of both the South Jersey Coaches Association tournament and the South Jersey Group 2 tournament. A senior, Quinn recorded 11 shutouts in 20 games and recorded 103 saves.

Midfielders: Adelyn McDonnell, Delsea; Daniela Vogel, Paul VI; Caitlin Olkowski, Shawnee.

Defenders: Charlie Owens, Audubon; Morrison Reeve, Cherokee; Leah Schuenemann, Eastern; Kayleigh Daley, Gateway; Lyla Quinones, Paul VI.

Goalies: Maddie Dubler, Shawnee; Chloe Krupa, Paul VI.

THIRD-TEAM
Forwards: Talia Armando, Cherry Hill East; Jackie Brownlee, Egg Harbor Township; Layla DeMaise, Gateway; Emma Tenaglia, Mainland; Courtney Davis, Shawnee; Caroline Neal, Cherokee.

Midfielders: Alana Alayo, Cherry Hill West; Emily Craney, Cinnaminson; Mollie Bruggis, Eastern; Mya Narcisi, Kingsway; Cali Fisler, Schalick; Carli Scrivana, Williamstown.

Defenders: Jazmin Marrero, Cherry Hill West; Anna Lawyer, Deptford; Brielle Connor, Haddon Heights; Aspen Tucker, Lenape; Nadia Strobel, Seneca; Tessa Reilley, Washington Township.

Goalies: Ava Griffin, Bishop Eustace; Ava Blose, Delsea.

Coach of the Year: Christian Cortese, Delsea. Cortese led the Crusaders to a 16-4-1 record that included a championship of the Tri-County Conference Liberty Division with a 10-0 mark. Delsea also qualified for the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Association Tournament and advanced to the semifinals of the South Jersey Group 3 tourney before falling to Moorestown, 2-0.
