Time for a Refresh
As the holiday season approaches, plenty of plans are being made to mark the occasion and celebrate with family and friends. But as we prepare to spend quality time with our loved ones, one thing that should be on everyone’s wish list this year is a little self-care. And the holidays are the perfect time for a refresh, whether opting for a complete glow-up or more subtle changes, to help you put a bow on 2025 in style.
We spoke with a few local professionals to get some advice on how to look and feel our best heading into the holidays and find out what services and treatments are helping achieve that goal.
With the holidays offering people some downtime, does that make it a more attractive time to perhaps get plastic surgery done?
“Absolutely! We definitely see an influx of patients around the holidays as many people are looking for ways to refresh their appearance before the busy social season. With many workplaces offering extended time off, it allows patients to recover comfortably at home without taking additional days away from work. It’s also a great opportunity to rest, heal and spend time with family while everyone is gathered for the holidays.”

What are some of the more popular treatments you are excited to offer patients this season?
“We have a treatment called Smoothglo, which is a combination of IPL (intense pulsed light therapy) and radio frequency microneedling. That procedure addresses tone, texture and volume—so it will target the fine lines, wrinkles or any other pigment issues accumulated over the summer.
“Additionally, a lot more people are starting to focus on themselves internally, so they’re doing a lot more peptides, they’re doing IV therapy … they are trying to boost their immune system because no one wants to get sick during the holidays.”

By staying on top of the latest trends, how are you able to better guide your clients to find the right look for the holidays?
“I always switch my clients’ hairstyles when it comes to the seasons. I really like to communicate, especially with color, the new trends for the fall and winter, like a more lived-in look and more natural hair color.
“Right now, we are basically focusing on you as an individual, because everything is in. Bangs are in, color is in, highlights are in—but also so is your natural hair color and people are growing out their gray hair. So really the trends are more individualized.

What can you tell us about your new Face Reality program and how that is benefitting clients?
“We’ve been testing the Face Reality program on a lot of our clients that have skin issues and we’ve noticed a huge transformation. Acne is a huge focus of this program and the results are amazing. … We are trying to keep people away from the chemicals that doctors prescribe for acne so you are not having to give your teenage daughter medication to clear up their skin. We teach them how to eat properly, how to clean their skin properly and they have follow-up facials every week.”

A lot of people may be tempted by products they see online or TV, but how important is a customized approach when it comes to proper skin care?
“Skincare doesn’t have to be as complicated as people think, but it does require a level of expertise and understanding what works, what’s backed by science and then what order to use those things. And that’s usually where people get it mixed up. They’ll go out and buy a couple thousand dollars’ worth of skincare products because it’s pretty, it’s got a cool name and they see celebrities endorsing it.
“But you can get a solid skincare routine for under $150 and get 10 times better results than you could by spending a couple thousand bucks. It’s just about how you use it and the guidance you receive.”

Are there certain procedures that are more popular with younger patients and vice versa those with older patients?
“Definitely! Younger patients are all about lip filler and baby Botox right now—they love subtle, preventative tweaks that keep everything looking fresh and natural. We also see a lot of interest in breast augmentation, especially with patients who want a natural, balanced enhancement.
“Our older patients, on the other hand, tend to focus more on rejuvenation and refinement. Surgical treatments like an eyelid lift, face and neck lift, we often see more breast lift or implant removal and replacement procedures, helping patients maintain a youthful, confident look that still feels true to them.”
