South Jersey Football Game of the Week
There are just three weeks left in the regular season and many teams are looking to earn the highest playoff seeding possible. Here is a look at the top games.

Friday

Northern Burlington (5-1) at Notre Dame (6-0), 6

This is a game in which both teams will look to increase their playoff seeding. Notre Dame began the week No. 7 in the Non-Public B playoff power points. NBC is eighth in the South Jersey Group 4 power points.  Northern Burlington senior QB Brent Walulak has thrown for 908 yards and eight touchdowns and run for 318 yards and another eight scores. Notre Dame has recorded four shutouts. Sophomore QB Mason Appleton has thrown for 1,042 yards and eight TDs and run for 197 yards and one score.

Penns Grove (4-1) at Schalick (6-0), 6

Penns Grove is looking to bounce back from last week’s 14-12 loss to rival Pennsville. For the season, freshman running back Javion Thomas has rushed for 733 yards (11.1 avg.) and 10 touchdowns. Schalick has already exceeded last year’s win total when the Cougars were 5-7. Last week Schalick beat Cumberland 42-15. QB Kenneth Bartee has rushed for 714 yards and 10 TDs and passed for 322 yards and two scores.

St. Augustine (5-1) at Shawnee (5-1). 6

Shawnee’s lone loss was 36-6 to unbeaten Rancocas Valley. The Renegades have one of the more potent ground games in South Jersey. Cole Anderson, who lines up at QB and RB has rushed for 970 yards (6.8 avg.) and 11 touchdowns. Shawnee is coming off a 24-23 win over district rival Lenape. St. Augustine rebounded from a 28-21 loss to Millville by beating Burlington Township last week, 49-0. Running back Roman Coney, a Cincinnati commit, has rushed for 622 yards (6.0 avg.) and 10 touchdowns.

Cherry Hill West (2-4) at Cherry Hill East (0-6), 6

Forget the records, this is one of the top rivalries between these teams who are playing for serious town bragging rights. East has played better than its record indicates, losing by a touchdown each to quality teams Delran and Pennsauken. Senior QB Josh Greenberg is a dual threat, with 1,058 yards and seven TDs passing and 477 yards and three TDs rushing. West is looking to snap a three-game losing streak.

Moorestown (5-1) at Clearview (5-1), 7

Both teams are having major bounce-back seasons. Moorestown, which was 2-8 last year, has won two in a row since a 14-6 win over division foe Camden Eastside. Clearview, which was 1-10 last year, has won three in a row since a 29-20 loss to Egg Harbor Township. Sophomore Antonio Green has rushed for 583 yards and four touchdowns.
