`Sweet Potato Pie`

by Press Release | Apr 18, 2004
`Sweet Potato Pie` Have you ever imagined that a sweet potato pie could save your life from disaster and satisfy your hunger?

Local author Kathleen Lindsey did, and she will share her tale on Saturday, April 24 at 2 p.m. at the South County Regional Branch Library.

All ages are invited to hear this delightful account of “Sweet Potato Pie,” an African American family’s story of struggle and triumph.

Lindsey is sure to bring the reading to life by dressing the part of “Mama,” whose family discovered a delicious way to earn money and save their farm during a drought in the early 1900s.

The library will host a craft project and refreshments after the reading.

The South County Regional Branch Library, part of the Camden County Library System, is located at 35 Coopers Folly Rd. in Atco. For more information, please call (856) 753-2537 or log on to: www.camdencountylibrary.org.
