Philly Absorbing N.J.Post Office Duties

Philly Absorbing N.J.Post Office Duties Bellmawr, N.J.: Work at the regional mail center in Camden County has been shifted to plants in Philadelphia and Delaware because a worker is suspected of having skin anthrax.

The 54-year-old mail processor is from the Wilmington, Delaware, area. He is not hospitalized.

The Bellmawr facility serves 159 post offices and delivers mail to one million locations in south jersey and parts of Delaware.

Mail inside the plant will stay there until tests show no anthrax is present. Nearly all the first-class mail was delivered today, but bulk mail, business class and ads remain.

Officials plan to test the plant's 13-hundred employees

Previously, New Jersey had five confirmed anthrax cases and one that can't be confirmed.
