Fires Closes NJ Road, Schools SALEM COUNTY, NJ: November 13, 2001: Smoke from brush fires has forced the closing of all five schools of the Pennsville School District in Salem County, New Jersey. Thick clouds of the smoke have also forced police to close Route 49 from Mahoney Road to Churchtown Road. Police don't know when that stretch of road will reopen.

The following Pennsville schools will be closed on Tuesday:

  • Pennsville Memorial High School
  • Pennsville Middle School
  • Central Park School
  • Valley Park School
  • Penn Beach School
