An Entertaining Threat in SJ

Triple Threat Productions (TTP) has been staging events at their facility for about ten years now. The lifelong dream of Drew Molotsky, TTP was created to provide quality theatre in the South Jersey area. As time went on, it became apparent that he had an opportunity to not only live out his dreams, but to reach out to the community as well.
Triple Threat Foundation for the Arts (TTFA) was organized for educational and literary purposes and is committed to bringing the magic and excitement of live performance to a generation of children that is bombarded with electronic entertainment in many forms, providing them and their parents with the chance to experience and participate in the long tradition of live theater.
Brett Molotsky, TTFA President, said, “theatre is an exciting business, but neither Drew nor I believe that we need to make it about the bottom line. Our creative and artistic goals can be best met as a non-profit organization--without the pressure of having to focus on money first.”
They see a “tremendous opportunity to give an outlet to local talent where one doesn’t exist” here in South Jersey. Aside from presenting a variety of shows featuring local talent, TTFA provides a variety of educational workshops, classes, presentations, and community involvement projects related to all aspects of the performing arts. Their efforts are focused around a core set of activities:
Live Theatrical Productions. TTFA produces and performs approximately five major theatrical productions during its regular season. Members of the surrounding residential communities are encouraged to participate. To support the goal of providing theatrical and literary education to the community, at least half of the performances scheduled are shows that have significant literary, social, historical, or theatrical importance to the community.
Workshops and Classes. In conjunction with the regular performance schedule, TTFA sponsors workshops in various aspects of theatrical production. These workshops focus on hands-on experience, with participants being given the opportunity to directly interact with performers and crew of current productions. TTFA offers special programs as well, including backstage tours, opportunities to discuss plays and performances with cast and crew, and provides an outlet for local playwrights and actors to present and discuss their work in a collaborative forum.
Community Involvement. To promote maximum awareness and education of the theater to the community in which TTFA operates, the cast and crew of each theatrical production is encouraged to promote and educate members of the community regarding theatrical performance and the role of theater in literature and society. This education comes in the form of classroom presentation at community schools, volunteer performances at local organizations, and occasional “Theater to the People” programs that provide access to live theatrical performances to those who are not able to travel to the theater on their own.
As TTFA continues to expand its offerings, there are more opportunities for young local talent to learn and perform, and plenty of opportunity for the rest of us to enjoy!
