`A Latte Laffs For Shore`

Answer: "A Latte Laffs for Shore."
That's the revolutionary concept behind COFFEE.COMedy, opening Saturday, Feb. 15, at 29 John F. Kennedy Blvd., in Sea Isle City. You've never experienced a unique and savory coffee house blend quite like this. And certainly not at the Jersey Shore.
Headlining the Feb. 15 grand opening event is Joey Callahan. Hailed as "one of the most clever young comics on the comedy club scene today" by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Callahan tops a laugh-loaded bill that also features Jim Johnson from the "Y-100" Morning Show, veteran Philly comic Mike Clements and your host, Lorraine Ranalli, from 96.5 The Point.
Also scheduled for Grand Opening weekend is a Saturday afternoon clown and face-painting session for kids, and Saturday afternoon live music by acoustic duo Jan & Greg. In conjunction with Sea Isle's Polar Bear Plunge, COFFEE.COMedy will be hosting a booth on the boardwalk by the Sea Isle City Pavilion. Stop by early as the staff greets the resort with great coffee and fabulous food, then come inside COFFEE.COMedy and warm up!
By day, COFFEE.COMedy is a combination coffee house with great breakfast, lunch desserts and computers, offering a place for vacationers to gain internet access in cozy confines. On weekend nights, COFFEE.COMedy becomes the hottest comedy club at the Shore, presenting top comedians for a nostalgic $10 cover charge.
"Coffee shops date back to people getting on stage and sharing things that are going on in their lives," says veteran Delaware Valley radio personality and owner Steve Trevelise. "In the 1950s and '60s, it was poetry and folk music. Today, it's comedy and folk music."
A Sunday night singer-songwriter concert series is also in the mix. On weekend days and nights, comedy, music, coffee and most of all, comfort, will permeate the COFFEE.COMedy environment. The place will be decorated with pop culture memorabilia sure to pique the interests of people from all over, of all ages -- precisely those who like to patronize this intimate seaside resort, where families come back year after year, generation after generation.
"You walk into COFFEE.COMedy and you're immediately surrounded by old friends," says Trevelise. "It's basically a hangout for people who don't drink but do remember."
Beatles fans won't be able to resist "Breakfast with the Bagels" in the morning. Breakfastgoers can "Come Together" to order Beatles-themed bagel bites such as the "Strawberry Fields" strawberry cream cheese bagel, the overstuffed "Help!" and the off-to-work favorite, the "Ticket to Ride" -- bagels and cream cheese to go -- along with an assortment of breakfast pastries. For lunch, the menu includes made-to-order sandwiches and wraps as well as Philly favorites like sausage and peppers.
Computer needs, including printing and faxing, will be served by work stations carefully positioned around the room.
COFFEE.COMedy promises to evolve and grow each week, continuing to respond to the needs and suggestions of its patronage. Come on down and be part of the revolution!
