Pumpkin and Indian Corn Harvesting
Fall colors are already at their peak in the fields at Howell Living History Farm, where on Saturday, Sept. 27 visitors can take their pick of Indian and field corn and make their own door hangings and corn crafts. Butcher Reds, Yellow Dents and Carousels are among the varieties of field corn grown on the 130-acre, circa 1900 farm, where the public can join in an all-day harvest that includes corn picking and husking, a corn craft program for children and corn products exhibit. Cornstalks, Indian Corn, cornmeal and corn crafts will be offered for sale.
"Pumpkin Spider", a craft program for children, will be offered in the farmhouse from 11am-3pm. There is a $1 materials fee per craft.
