Marsh Music Continues

Growing up, he listened to the folk music of his parents, harmonizing while strumming a guitar or gathered around the family piano. Soon he was writing and performing before he decided to hitchhike around this country and travel abroad, absorbing the folklore and musical traditions of cities and villages, pubs and churches. Returning to Harrisburg, Pa. where he had attended college, he played guitar in a gospel band while continuing to write and perform.
Two summers ago John Francis rooted himself in Philadelphia’s rich music scene. He met Grammy-award winning producer, Phil Nicolo (John Lennon, Sting, Lauryn Hill, Billy Joel) of Studio 4 who produced his critically acclaimed ‘Philadelphia EP’ independently released in 2004 which will be available at the Marsh Music concert.
