South Jersey Football Games of the Week
Washington Township (5-2, 3-0 WJFL Classic) at Kingsway (6-1, 3-0) Friday, 6 p.m.
The winner of this game will clinch at least a tie for the Classic Division title. Both of these teams are contenders in Group 5 in addition to battling for the division. Both teams are coming off opposite results. Township is looking to rebound from last week’s 27-0 loss to Rancocas Valley, while Kingsway was a 62-0 winner over its former Thanksgiving rival Clearview. The Dragons have won five in a row since a 30-0 loss to South Jersey Top 10 team Camden. A year ago Washington Township beat Kingsway, 52-23. This one could again be a high scoring affair.

Winslow Township (7-0, 2-0 WJFL American) at Mainland (5-2, 1-2), Friday, 6 p.m.
Last year Mainland beat Winslow Township, 40-7 in the state Group 4 semifinal, enroute to winning the state championship. This year it is Winslow Township who will be the heavy favorite. That’s because one of Mainland’s losses this year was a 40-7 defeat to Millville. Winslow Township beat Millville, 35-7. Winslow Township’s closest game this season was a 21-7 win over St. Augustine. If Winslow Township beats Mainland, the Eagles would clinch at least a tie for the American Division title. This year the Eagles will be the team to beat in Group 4.

Paulsboro (5-2, 4-1 WJFL Patriot) at West Deptford (4-3, 3-1), Friday, 7 p.m.

The loser of this game would be eliminated from Patriot Division contention if Camden Catholic (4-0 Patriot) beats Collingswood this week. Paulsboro is coming off a 36-24 win over Pennsville. In all four of its wins, Paulsboro has scored 36 or more points. Aundre Hill had two rushing touchdowns to lead Paulsboro in its win over Pennsville. West Deptford is coming off a 58-19 victory over winless Salem. Sophomore Zamir Davis has been a breakout performer for West Deptford. He has rushed for 490 yards (6.3 avg.) and eight touchdowns.

Paul VI (4-2, 3-0 WJFL Continental) at Seneca (5-2, 3-0), Friday 7 p.m.
The winner of this game will clinch at least a tie for the Continental title. Paul VI saw its three-game win streak snapped with last week’s 27-19 loss at Notre Dame. Last year the Eagles won a 28-27 thriller at Seneca. Junior Tyree Roane is among many of the big-play performers for Paul VI. Seneca is coming off a 41-7 win over Hammonton. Sophomore Anthony Tirico has thrown for 1,255 yards and 10 touchdowns for Seneca.

Glassboro (6-0, 3-0 WJFL Diamond) at Schalick (5-2, 2-1), Friday, 7 p.m.
Schalick is still in the running in the Diamond and the Cougars have won four in a row following last week’s 28-21 win over Gloucester. Senior Reggie Allen Jr. has rushed for 487 yards (6.7 avg.) and five touchdowns. Glassboro is coming off a 40-10 win over Cinnaminson and Kristopher Foster threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns. The Bulldogs’ only relatively close game was an opening 22-12 victory over Haddon Heights. Since then, in the ensuing five games, Glassboro has outscored opponents, 195-10.
