With the peak pandemic receding into the rearview while its lingering snags and snarls are still rearing their ugly heads, being five years out from the worst of COVID has certainly provided some opportunity for introspection, innovation and insights from the leaders, doers and decision-makers navigating a new world, all while taking their teams and clients with them to explore the potential that still exists even when there’s more bumps in the road than usual. And, as many of the experts we spoke with pointed out, it was a great year to find new partners and allies along the way to amplify one’s impact through strength in numbers and taking on shared missions together.

We continued assessing industry trends and looking ahead with April’s building and construction report, where industry experts expounded upon the opportunities buffeting their cautiously optimistic outlooks, especially given the promise of local potential they noticed in the year’s first quarter. We also took a keen look at two specific industries at two different stages, first by taking a look at how the cannabis industry is transitioning from a newcomer to an established economic engine, and then speaking to some manufacturing professionals about the importance of working together and flexibly adapting to grow stronger as a united sector.
