Ballet South Of NJ Inc. - The Nutcracker

Join the young dancers as they showcase their accomplishments to the public at Salem Community College and Pitman High School in Southern New Jersey, just minutes from Wilmington, Delaware, and the Delaware Memorial Bridge.
Ballet South of New Jersey, Inc. will perform at the Davidow Theatre at Salem Community College on Saturday, December 1st at 2:00 PM, and Sunday, December 2nd at 3:00 PM, and at Pitman High School in Pitman, New Jersey on Sunday, December 9th at 3:00 PM. Admission for all performances is $18. For tickets please call (856) 223-0980.
The Nutcracker presentation was made possible in part by a grant to get people to attend performances of the arts in Salem County, New Jersey.
Ballet South of New Jersey, Inc.’s Artistic Director and Choreographer, Shaun Doyle lives in Medford, New Jersey. He trained at the Harkness Ballet School in New York City with David Howard and at the Pennsylvania Ballet School. He also studied with Benjamin Harkavy, Director of the Juilliard Ballet School.
Shaun danced professionally with the Joffrey II dancers, Pennsylvania Ballet, Iowa Ballet (Des Moines), Iowa Arts Touring Team, Chicago City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Harbor City Ballet (Baltimore) and the Ballet South. He also performed with Joffrey Ballet in the Emmy Award winning production of Petrouchka with Rudolf Nureyev.
Ballet South of New Jersey, Inc. is a non-profit ballet corporation that encourages inclusiveness and artistic excellence while celebrating the individuality of each of its members. They educate and train young dancers, giving them a sound foundation of professional technique through classes and productions.
The Company is endorsed by principal dancers and instructors of the Pennsylvania Ballet. They are affiliated with the School to Work Transition Program at Gloucester County Institute of Technology. Lecture/demonstrations focusing on the Core Curriculum Standards for Visual and Performing Art have been provided to various public and private school audiences. Ballet South of New Jersey, Inc. has written coloring workbooks to explain the ballets to children before they attend.
