Candlelight Shopping In Haddonfield Haddonfield's annual Candlelight Shopping has begun, luring friends and families out on the streets and making the holidays gay and bright. From now through Christmas, every Thursday and Friday evening, 6 to 9 pm, and every Sunday afternoon, 1 to 4 pm, the sights, sounds, and revelry of the season will be featured around town, focused on Kings Highway and Kings Court.

Haddonfield is transformed by this event, becoming a testament to old-fashioned holiday Americana. The streets are lit by luminaries and strings of lights, while the buildings and stores sport garlands and wreaths and ribbons, creating a festive air for shopping and dining. Shoppers are entertained by music as live singers roam the streets, providing a variety of melodic styles from carols to Celtic music to madrigal songs.

In addition to music, occasional mimes provide silent entertainment and the town crier gives yuletide greetings to visitors. You can relax on a horse and carriage ride, getting away from the crowds to take in the sights and sounds of the season, or you can excitedly stand in line to see Santa Claus. The shopkeepers in Haddonfield also provide individual holiday treats in their stores, ranging from cookies and crackers to champagne and small gifts.

There are several cafes and restaurants, giving families many dining options. Stop in for a light snack, have a full-meal, or focus on dessert. Restaurants offer a range of foods, including Chinese, Italian, and American, as well as specialty shops for ice cream, cakes, and chocolate. For shopping, an assortment of stores provide an ideal opportunity to make holiday purchases like antiques, toys, crafts, clothes, jewelry, arts, musical instruments, furniture, and more.

If you are looking for a Norman Rockwell Christmas experience, or just want to have a festive shopping trip, then Haddonfield’s Candlelight Shopping is for you. Throughout December, several well-known choral groups will supply their talents, including the Temple Emanuel Children's Choir, Temple Beth Shalom Choir, St. John Newman Choir, Union League Glee Club, and Haddon Heights Chorus. Other musical guests will be the Pine Barons, Golden Eagle Band, Sugar Sand Ramblers, and even a mummer accordion musician.
