Two NJ Casualties in Afghanistan

“Staff Sgt. Walkup served our nation with great bravery and patriotism,” said McGreevey. “We honor his memory by flying the National and State flags at half-staff. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”
Walkup, of Millville, died last week when his MH-53J Pave Low helicopter (pictured, above) crashed near Baghram, Afghanistan. Walkup enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1996.
In honor of Air Force Major Steven Plumhoff, Governor James E. McGreevey today signed an Executive Order calling for the United States and New Jersey flags to fly half-staff on Wednesday, December 3.
“We honor Major Plumhoff’s memory by flying the National and State flags at half-staff,” said McGreevey. “He and his family have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation and our freedom. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”
Plumhoff died last week when his MH-53J Pave Low helicopter (pictured, above) crashed near Baghram, Afghanistan. Plumhoff was assigned to the United States Air Force 58th Special Operations Wing at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. He graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1992.
