Reading with Rover

by Press Release | Sep 5, 2004
Reading with Rover Camden County Library System has gone to the dogs...well, at least for a special story time scheduled at all locations this fall.

The library system will introduce a “Reading with Rover” program that will let kids read to a special guest—-a therapy dog. The program’s mission is to give reluctant or struggling emergent readers opportunities to read aloud in a relaxed and empowering environment.

The therapy dogs, registered with Therapy Dogs International, visit hospitals, nursing homes and other institutions to provide comfort and companionship.

Each location’s dates, times and age ranges vary for the “Reading with Rover” program. Call the host library to register.
