Starmites
Margate Players director Ms. Stacie Morano directs "Starmites". Recently, Ms. Morano directed Margate Players’ production of "Brighton Beach Memoirs", which received two 2004 Perry Award nominations, as well as their productions of "Once On This Island Jr.", "The Miracle Worker", and their upcoming production of "Number The Stars".
The Atlantic City High School Drama Guild presents the rock Broadway musical "Starmites" on March 16th-19th at 7:00PM at the Atlantic City High School Auditorium. Atlantic City High School is located off Exit 2 on the Atlantic City Expressway. Tickets for this event are $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors, and can be purchased at the door. "Starmites" is the story of Eleanor, a teenage girl who falls into a comic book world, and discovers her destiny. Along her journey she meets the Starmites, a group of wise-cracking superheros, and the Banshees, scary Amazon women who protect the world’s most fearsome weapon. Add to this mix a raging queen, an alien guide, and a terrifying villain, and you get the most exciting, hilarious musical to come off Broadway in years. Nominated for six Tony Awards, this sci-fi rock musical is one no audience member should miss!
"Starmites" features an eclectic pop rock score by Barry Keating, a book by Barry Keating and Stuart Ross, and is appropriate for audiences of all ages.
Lighting for the Atlantic City High School Drama Guild’s "Starmites" has been designed by award-winning designers Mr.Charles R. Cole III and Mr.Daniel Wright. This musical also features costumes by Mr. Ryan PJ Mulholland, scenery designed by Ms. Stacie Morano, and props by Ms. Ginger Schneider. Mr. Chris Lorge is the music director, and Mr. Jim Daly conducts the pit orchestra.
"Starmites" is proud to be the first Atlantic City High School musical to be considered for the Papermill Playhouse Rising Star Awards, a statewide award program honoring excellence in high school musical theater.
