(New Haven, CT)- Justin Duchscherer missed Trenton history by one out as a single by Taber Maier with two outs in the 9th inning broke up a no-hit bid. Trenton won the game 4-0.

Duchscherer (3-2) got Esix Snead on a ground out to start the 9th inning. Jason Bowers was struck out for the second out. Maier lined a 2-1 pitch past 3B Jorge DeLeon for the first hit of the night. Troy Farnsworth then grounded out to complete the one-hit shutout.

Duchscherer threw 113 pitches on the night. He walked one and struck out seven. he also hit one batter.

New Haven had two men reach base in the 3rd and 6th innings, thanks to two Thunder errors, the lone walk and the hit batsman.

Trenton (12-21) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 3rd inning thanks to a bases-loaded walk by starter Les Walrond to DeLeon. Walrond (1-3) allowed four runs on three hits and six walks in 5+ innings.

The Thunder added three runs in the 6th inning on a two-run double by Mark Fischer and an RBI ground out from Jerry Salzano.
