Literacy Volunteers Needed

Literacy Volunteers Needed Literacy Volunteers of America/Camden County (LVA) will offer courses for new volunteers interested in teaching functional English literacy skills to adults at the lowest levels of literacy.

The courses will take place at the Voorhees Regional Branch Library, located at 203 Laurel Rd. (across from the Echelon Mall).

Volunteers do not need to have any teaching experience to become effective tutors.

The next workshops will be
Basic Literacy Workshop
Six Wednesday sessions: September 22,29, October 6, 13, 20, and 27, 7-9:30pm.

English For Speakers of Other Languages
Six Tuesday sessions: September 21, 28, October 5, 12, 19, and 26 7-10pm.

All sessions will start promptly.

In the state of New Jersey, over one million adults perform at the lowest level of literacy. You can be part of this successful program by helping an adult improve their life skills.
