Drive Safely!

Starting Saturday, the state police will add more troopers to the toll roads to target speeders and aggressive drivers.
Eight additional troopers will be assigned to the parkway and the turnpike will get an extra nine.
A shortage of troopers has resulted in fewer summonses on the toll roads. State police on the turnpike issued a little more than 49,000 tickets in the first nine months of the year.
That compares to nearly 71,000 during the same period in 2002.
