Woman Dies After Fall A 90-year-old woman who fell into a dry cesspool behind her home last week died from injuries caused by the fall, hospital officials said.

Catherine McCleary of Stratford fell about 10 feet into a hole behind her house on Feb. 7. A passing mail carrier heard her cries for help and called 911. Firefighters used a pulley system to pluck McCleary out of the cesspool.

The woman spent a week at Cooper University Hospital but died Monday.

The mailman, Kevin Breitenstine, was scheduled to be honored by Stratford Burough and postal service officials on Tuesday.
