Dentist Kills Wife A quiet South Jersey community was shattered by gunfire early Friday morning and now a woman is dead.

The woman was found shot to death inside her home on East Blue Bell Lane in Mt. Laurel. Her husband has been charged with murder in her killing.

The Burlington County Prosecutors' Office said it interviewed Dennis King, 56, throughout the day Friday and decided to charge him around 4 p.m.

Officials said King allegedly shot his wife, Sharon King, 47, in the head around 1 a.m. Friday. The .38 caliber revolver was found near the victim's body. Prosecutors said the shooting was the culmination of a "trivial" argument that had escalated on Thursday.

Dennis King is a dentist employed by the State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services and assigned to Ancora State Hospital in Winslow Township. He has been on leave for six weeks for knee surgery. Sharon King also worked at the hospital. She had been on leave for about six months.

King is being held on $500,000 bail.
