Turnpike Director DWI

by NBC10/AP | Jul 1, 2005
Turnpike Director DWI State police have charged the New Jersey Turnpike's law director with driving while intoxicated after they say he rear-ended another vehicle in an authority-owned car.

George Caceres also is charged with reckless driving and has had his car privileges revoked.

It's not known whether the 49-year-old was on official business when troopers say he plowed into the back of another vehicle on the Garden State Parkway in Paramus on Wednesday night.

Two people in the other vehicle were treated for back and leg injuries.

The turnpike official was not injured.

Caceres oversees a department of 10 lawyers plus assistants and clerks.

The River Vale resident has worked for the turnpike since 2002.
