Public Hearings for Farm Auctions

The sale conditions include permanent deed restrictions to ensure that the land remains in agriculture.
The Jan. 17 public hearings will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Mansfield Township Municipal Building on East Main St. in Columbus; noon at the Pemberton Township Municipal Building on Rt. 530; 2:30 p.m. at the Southampton Township Municipal Building on Retreat Road, and 4:30 p.m. at the Lumberton Township Municipal Building on Municipal Drive.
The large Greenberg farm on Route 206 in Mansfield will be sold in two parcels –112-acre North Tract and 117-acre South Tract.
The Sybron farm off Birmingham Road in Pemberton Township will be sold in three parcels – 76-acre North Tract, 151-acre Main Tract and 127-acre South Tract.
The 244-acre Giacchino Farm on Newbolds Corner Road in Lumberton and Southampton townships will be sold as one farm, as will the 128-acre Rancocas Valley Regional High School Farm on Eayrestown Road in Lumberton.
The County’s Farmland Preservation plan includes the auction of some of the County’s 200+ preserved farms totaling over 21,000 acres to generate revenue to continue preserving farmland. Transferring some of this farmland into private ownership helps to sustain the area’s agricultural viability while reducing taxpayer cost and the County’s management expense.
