Stop Bagging and Dragging your Leaves The Burlington County Freeholders are sponsoring two free Backyard Compost Workshops for county residents on Wednesday, September 27th at 7pm and Saturday, September 30th at 10am. “Composting benefits the residents, the environment and the county by reducing the amount of solid waste that needs to be collected and saving valuable landfill space,” said Freeholder William S. Haines, Jr. who oversees the Department of Resource Conservation.

“Stop bagging and dragging your leaves. Learn how to recycle your yard and kitchen waste into ‘black gold,’ said Haines.

Both workshops will be held at the NJ EcoComplex on Rt. 543 (1200 Columbus Rd.) in Mansfield. The workshops will last about one hour and will include handouts.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required. To register, call the County Office of Recycling at 609-499-1001 ext.271 or email Skonen@co.burlington.nj.us
