Jersey Fresh Day on the Battleship

The Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial and the New Jersey Department of Agriculture’s “Jersey Fresh” program are joining forces to host the third-annual “Celebrate Jersey Fresh Day” on the Battleship on Saturday, Sept. 13TH from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The tasting event will feature various food items from all over the Garden State. The festival will be held rain or shine under the fantail tent aboard the ship.

Visitors can enjoy tastes from all over the Garden State, from both land and sea. Products available for guests to enjoy will include clams, oysters, scallops, corn-on-the-cob, peaches, the famous Jersey tomato and much more. In addition, guests will be able to sample and purchase various wines grown from vineyards in the state as well as New Jersey’s own Flying Fish beer. Samples of locally-produced honey, dairy products and cranberries will also be available, along with the opportunity to speak with members of the Master Gardeners of Camden County to learn how to create a garden of your own.

A Farmers Market will be offered during the day for guests to purchase and bring home fruit and vegetables grown throughout the state. Representatives from various agricultural programs will be available to educate visitors about the many products produced in New Jersey, and how they go from the ocean or farm to your table. Visitors can also enter to win great prizes, including tickets to local attractions, gift certificates to local restaurants and two Southwest airline tickets.

Tickets are just $10 per person and include unlimited sampling from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. A combo ticket can be purchased with any tour for a $5 additional charge. Berthed on the Camden Waterfront across the Delaware River from Center City Philadelphia, the Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial is a non-profit historic ship museum that offers guided and self-guided tours daily.
