Oct. 31 - 2000-01 regular season begins.

Jan. 5 - 10-day contracts may now be signed.

Jan. 10 - All player contracts are guaranteed for the remainder of the season.

Feb. 9-11 - All-Star Game, Washington.

Feb. 15 - Trading deadline, 6 p.m. (EST).

April 18 - Regular season ends.

April 21 - Playoffs begin.

May 13 - Early Entry eligibility deadline, 11:59 p.m. (EDT).

May 20 - Draft lottery, Secaucus, N.J.

June 20 - Finals latest possible end date. Draft early entrant withdrawal deadline.

June 27 - Draft 2001.

July 1 - Teams may begin negotiating, but not sign, free agents.

Aug. 1 - Teams may begin signing player contracts.
