Thunder Win On Unearned Run in 12th.

(Norwich, CT)- Angel Santos scored on an error in the 12th Inning as the Thunder beat Norwich, 6-5, Saturday night. The win snapped a four-game losing streak.
The key to the win for Trenton (64-69) was the bullpen. Three pitchers combined for seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit. B.J. Leach retired all 12 hitters that he faced for the win. Cory Spencer worked a scoreless 12th Inning for his 20th save.
Norwich (77-56) ran out to a 4-0 lead off Josh Hancock. Marcus Thames smacked a two-run homer in the 3rd Inning.
The Thunder scored four runs in the 5th Inning to tie the game. Virgil Chevalier smacked a two-run homer, his 15th of the year, in the inning.
In the 12th Inning, santos led off with a walk against Barry Johnson. he moved to 3rd base on a hit by Garry Maddox. Chevalier hit a ball to the mound, but the throw home by Johnson went off the glove of Julio Mosquera. Santos, who would have been in a rundown except for the error, scored.
The teams will wrap up their series on Sunday at 1:05 PM. Chris Elmore (5-1) starts for Trenton.
