WP- Jorge De La Rosa (1-0)

(Trenton)- Steve Lomasney`s solo home run in the bottom of the 7th Inning powered the Trenton Thunder to a 3-2 win over Akron Saturday night at Waterfront Park.

Lomasney`s homer, his 6th of the year, came with one out in the inning off Aeros starter Ryan Drese (5-7). It was his 3rd homer since coming off the disabled list nine games ago.

Jorge De La Rosa (1-0) got the win, despite allowing the tying run to score in the top half of the seventh. Cory Spencer pitched two scoreless innings to record his 11th save.

Casey Fossum pitched well tonight, but got a no-decision. The Thunder starter allowed one unearned run in six innings with eight strikeouts.

Akron (27-39) scored first in the game in the 3rd Inning. They got back-to-back singles by Corey Erickson and Jim Goelz with one out. Erickson crossed home after a pair of passed balls in the inning by Lomasney.

Trenton got the lead back in the bottom half on a botched double play ball that went into the Thunder dugout and allowed two runs to score. Those runs came off Drese, who allowed three runs (one earned) over seven innings.

The two teams will wrap up their series on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 PM. Mike Kusiewicz (3-4) goes for Trenton against Akron`s David Darwin (1-2).
