Eagles Likely to Face Cunningham

by AP | Nov 3, 2000
Eagles Likely to Face Cunningham Aikman did not rule himself out, labelling his chances as "doubtful" But Aikman sounded more optimistic of playing the following week because he`s scheduled to undergo a second series of pain-relieving injections on Monday.

Aikman says the hard turf at Veterans Stadium and the fact Philadelphia gave him a concussion in the opener are not factors in his decision.

When asked if it would take a miracle for him to start, he laughed and said -- quote -- "That`s what they`re telling me."

That leaves Randall Cunningham as the likely quarterback in his third start of the year.

Cunningham has not played at the Vet since his 11-year career with the Eagles ended in 1995.
