(Trenton, NJ)- Portland used a four-run 8th inning to beat the Trenton Thunder, 9-5, Monday night at Waterfront Park.

The Sea Dogs (27-25) pulled off their rally against Red Sox pitcher Bryce Florie, who is currently with Trenton on an injury rehab. The go-ahead run scored on a single by Kevin Hooper. Florie (0-1) allowed four runs (two earned) in 1 1/3 innings.

Trenton (26-29) took a 5-4 lead in the 4th inning thanks to a two-run double by Jerry Salzano as part of a three-run inning.

That lead lasted until a solo homer by Abraham Nunez in the 6th inning off B.J. Leach tied the game at 5-5.

Oswaldo Mairena (4-1) got the win with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.
