SURF WIN A THRILLER IN THE NINTH An RBI groundout by Brian Hunter scored Jack Joffrion and gave the Atlantic City Surf an 8-7 victory over Lehigh Valley Thursday night at The Sandcastle.

Back-to-back home runs by Keith Gordon and Hunter in the eighth gave AC a 7-5 advantage. Lehigh then came back in the ninth scoring two runs on three Surf errors.

The winning pitcher was Randi Mallard (3-1), the losing pitcher was Matt Weimer, who fell to 0-2.

The home run was Gordon`s league-leading 11th of the season, and with two hits, increased his hit streak to 17 games.
