PA Next Stop for NASCAR

PA Next Stop for NASCAR NASCAR`s next stop is Pennsylvania for the Pocono 500 this Sunday. That means excitement for NASCAR fans, and traffic headaches for everyone else.

Pennsylvania State Police are planning to change some of the traffic patterns around the Pocono International Raceway to accommodate the tens of thousands of fans who will flock to the Monroe County track.

Starting early Sunday morning, police will convert Route 115 from Interstate 80 to the raceway to three lanes, with just one lane southbound. That change will be in effect until the start of the race.

After the Pocono 500, Route 115 will be converted to three lanes southbound, with just one lane northward. Traffic patterns on Route 115 will return to normal after the parking areas around the raceway have cleared.

State Police are asking those planning to attend the race to leave early to give themselves plenty of time to get to the speedway, and car-pool, if possible. Everyone not attending the race is being asked to avoid Route 115 Sunday.

Traffic delays are also expected on Routes 209, 940 and 903 due to the race.
