(Akron, OH) - Wilson Sido tossed six shutout innings as part of a four-pitcher, six-hit shutout in a 3-0 win over Trenton Wednesday night.

Sido (1-0) started his night in the 2nd Inning after Cleveland Indians pitcher Paul Shuey worked a scoreless 1st Inning on a injury rehab. Sido allowed five hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

Akron (34-43) scored their only run in the 6th Inning on a bases-loaded single by Simon Pond. the run came off Thunder reliever Jorge DeLaRosa (1-1), who allowed four hits in two innings.

Trenton starter Chris Elmore worked five shutout innings in his first Double-A start.

The Thunder (37-38) recorded all six of their hits with two outs and didn`t get the first batter of an inning on base all night long. Jerry Salzano had three hits on the night.

The series will continue on Thursday night at 7:05 PM. Jason Sekany (1-2) will start for Trenton against Akron`s Zach Day (5-8).
