CAMDEN WIN 10-8 OVER SURF

ATLANTIC CITY – Third baseman Guillermo Garcia tied an Atlantic League record as he crushed three home runs in a 10-8 Camden Riversharks (1-1) victory over the Atlantic City Surf (1-1) Saturday night at the Sandcastle.

The long ball record is now shared by eight different players. It was the fourth player all-time to hit three homers in one game. Down 5-4 in the sixth, Maleke Fowler stepped up to hit a three-run homer to put the Surf up 7-5.

The Riversharks struck back once again, scoring four in the seventh inning. Camden tied the game after Dwight Maness was struck in the face by a Dave Mastrolonardo pitch with the bases loaded.

Maness was shaken for a couple of minutes, but then rose to take his base. Camden`s Andres Duncan followed up with a tie-breaking two run single.

Garcia added a run in the eighth with his third homer. Camden`s Jimmy “Slim” Williams picked up his tenth save of the season.
