Surf Prevail Over Patriots ATLANTIC CITY – The Atlantic City Surf (5-2) held back the Somerset Patriots (6-1) to give them there first loss of the second half by the score of 8-6 Friday night at the Sandcastle in front of 5325 fans.

It was the second consecutive day the Surf drew over 5300 fans to the ballpark.

The Surf`s Danny Perez went 3-5 and scored two runs. Greg Blosser homered twice and Michael Warner hit a three-run blast for Somerset.

Surf closer Randi Mallard struck out Somerset`s Daron Stovall with the bases loaded to earn his eighth save of the season.

The Surf and the Patriots resume their series Saturday night at the Sandcastle, 7:05 p.m.
