Bluefish Swim Past Surf 4-1 BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Mel Wearing had two hits, including a solo home run, as the Bridgeport Bluefish beat the Atlantic City Surf 4-1 Tuesday night in Bridgeport.

Bridgeport (37-36, 7-3) struck first with a run in the first inning. Alex Cole reached on a single and advanced to third on Brendan Kingman`s ground-rule double.

Oreste Marrero`s sacrificefly scored Cole. Marrero leads the Bluefish with 49 RBI`s. The Bluefish made it 2-0 in the second, when Billy Rich was knocked in on a fielder`s choice by Terry McGriff.

Wearing hit his solo homer in the sixth to make it 3-0. Jack Joffrion tripled with two outs in the sixth inning and scored on Alex Llanos` single. Andy High, the Surf`s star left-hander, took his first loss since May 6, going seven innings allowing three runs on seven hits.

The Surf and the Bluefish continue their series Wednesday, 7:05 in Bridgeport.
