Viera`s homer Lifts Ducks In 10 ATLANTIC CITY – First baseman Jose Viera hit a monster three-run home run in the tenth inning to help the Long Island Ducks (9-10) defeat the Atlantic City Surf (11-8) 10-8 Friday night at the Sandcastle.

Down 6-3 in the seventh inning, Surf shortstop Jose Olmeda tied up the game with a three-run opposite field homer.

After a Jose Velazquez double, Emison Soto hit a single up the middle to score Velazquez and give the Surf a 7-6 lead.

The Ducks struck back though, as a two-out bases loaded walk issued by Jason Moody scored Tom Hage to tie the game at seven apiece.

The defensively lacking game featured eight errors, three wild pitches, and one passed ball.

The Surf and the Ducks continue their series Saturday night, 7:05 p.m. at the Sandcastle.
