Oh Brother!

If you should get a chance to meet Freddie Cole this weekend at the Stockton State College Performing Arts Center, please don’t ask him about his older brother, Nat. After decades in the business as an accomplished jazz singer, Freddie has earned the right to be asked about himself.
Freddie’s standing among the great jazz musicians of our age would be far greater, if not for his always being compared to his sibling. Hockey fans can relate the comparison of former Flyer defenseman Mark Howe, who would probably be in the NHL Hall of Fame if not for the enormous shadow cast by his father, Gordie.
Friday’s performance plans to be a great one. Cole’s music is bonded by the strength of his lyrics to a sense of romanticism. The best part of a true jazz concert is the way the musicians feed off of the energy of the crowd. So close to Valentine’s Day, the Freddie Cole show is the perfect last minute event for any couple in love.
Tickets to Freddy Cole, on Friday, February 1 at 8PM are $27 for orchestra and $22 for mezzanine seating. To order tickets, call the Stockton Performing Arts Center Box Office at (609) 652-9000. The Box Office is open Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 7 PM. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Card orders are welcome.
Also going on in South Jersey this weekend, Split Decision will be appearing at the Pennant East in Bellmawr on Saturday night. Must be 21 to enter. Call 856-931-4802. This weekends best Karaoke party will be at Pufferbelly in Lindenwold. Call 856-783-4544.
