Shark Sighted at AC Beach
Precautions are being taken at the Jersey shore after a confirmed shark sighting. On Thursday afternoon, a 10 foot brown shark was spotted near the Albany Avenue area. Authorities say brown sharks are common, and not dangerous unless provoked, but say swimmers should be careful whenever there are sharks around. According to a member of the Atlantic City Beach Patrol, "We'll take whatever precautions that we need to take and we are on an extra lookout... trying to make sure that if we do see anything that even looks like a shark we'll start moving people out of the water."
The beach was reopened Friday, and folks were back in the water with no sign of any sharks.
