Cooler weather and smaller crowds mean that this is the perfect time to enjoy the Camden Waterfront!

Ongoing: The Fish N Ship Combo makes it easy to spend a whole day at the Camden Waterfront! Visit both the Battleship New Jersey and the new Adventure Aquarium for one low price. Adventure Aquarium highlights include the West African River Experience featuring hippopotamuses, porcupines and over 20 species of African birds in a free-flight aviary and a suspended 40-foot walk-through shark tunnel. Guests can even have an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to “Swim with the Sharks.” Fish N Ship tickets can be purchased at either the Adventure Aquarium or at the Battleship.

November 12: Camden’s New York Shipbuilding Corporation exhibit opens to the public. This special exhibit, developed in partnership with the Camden County Historical Society, highlights Camden’s important naval shipbuilding heritage. Founded in 1899, The New York Shipbuilding Corporation was one of the largest private shipbuilding yards in the world, employing more than 35,000 people by 1945. The 180-acre facility, situated on the Delaware River in the City of Camden, built ten battleships, less than a half mile away from the Battleship New Jersey’s current location. These ten ships represented almost 15% of all battleship construction for the United States Navy, and the second highest production from a private shipyard. The New York Shipbuilding Corporation had a tremendous impact on the economic and population growth of Southern New Jersey, and its lasting effects can still be felt today. The Camden County Open Space, Recreation, Farmland, and Historic Preservation Fund fund this exhibit.
