Women's Walk Being Planned

The 5K walk will begin at the Promenade along the riverfront at 9 a.m. and is open to men, women and children.
Freeholder Dawn Marie Addiego has been working with the Council on Women to initiate the walk to raise funds to educate at-risk families about available resources and counseling, such as how to manage credit and debt to help prevent homelessness.
“Nearly half of the homeless in Burlington County consist of families with children,” said Council Chairperson Karen Murray. “We want to raise awareness about emergency services and provide information about programs.”
The Council on Women is seeking sponsors for the event. Women’s Walk Committee Chairperson Renee Vidal said the Council plans to make the walk an annual event to raise funds and awareness for issues concerning women and children in Burlington County.
For more information on sponsorships, please contact Renee at rvidal@curetoncaplan.com. Participation in the walk will be $10 per person. Additional information will be issued this summer and posted on the Council on Women’s website at http://www.co.burlington.nj.us/bcacw.
