Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a fun way for the whole family to get involved in the fight against breast cancer. You can build a team with family, friends, and/or co-workers to walk in honor of someone who lost their battle to cancer or in celebration of a survivor.
WHO: You, your family, friends and coworkers. Anyone motivated to fight breast cancer is encouraged.
WHAT: The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event – a 5K non-competitive walk to raise awareness and proceeds for the fight against breast cancer.
WHEN: October 22, 2006
Registration: 9am
Event Start: 10am
WHERE: Jack Curtis Stadium, Cooper River Park Pennsauken, N.J.
WHY: One out of every eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. In New Jersey alone, more than 8,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Participating in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer helps to support cancer research, vital patient and family support programs in our community, public policies that improve access to breast cancer screening, and educate the community on breast cancer screening guidelines.
