Computer Classes For Seniors

Computer Classes For Seniors Starting Monday, January 8 and Thursday , January 11, computer classes for Lumberton senior citizens will be conducted at the Lumberton Gaun Community Center on Main Street. Each course will run for six weeks and will cost $95.

“Computer 101” will be offered on Thursday (January 11) from 10am to 12n. This beginner course will introduce basic computer terminology, functions, and simple word processing. Students do not need to own a computer to attend this class. (Also available on Mondays evenings, 6:30 – 8:30 PM) “Computer 102” will be taught on Thursday (January 11) from 1 to 3pm. This is for those who have access to a computer and completed “101,” or have word processing experience. It will cover more complex word processing documents, as well as introduce how to create a table and clip art.

“Computer 103” will be offered on Monday (January 8) from 10am to 12n. This course is for those who have access to a computer and completed “102”, or have experience with word processing. It will cover organizing and managing files and folders, toolbars, creating labels, and Word Art.

A new course “Introduction to Using a Scanner, Digital Camera and Scrapbooking” will be offered on Mondays from 1:00-3:00pm. This fun hands-on class will introduce you to the world of digital images using a digital camera and scanner. You will learn how to create more memorable images by using formats provided by the scrapbook software.

To register, call Computer Generations at 609-261-0246. A registration form will be mailed to you with the instructions to send your check for $95 (payable to Computer Generation, a non-profit organization) to: Computer Generations, 381 Landing St., Lumberton NJ 08048.

Registrations are due no later December 22, 2006. Include your name, address, telephone number, course name, and time of class. These computer courses are very popular so don’t delay in signing up!
