Nominations Sought for Outstanding Women

To be eligible for the award, nominees must have lived or worked in Burlington County for at least one year. The awards are sponsored by the Advisory Council on Women and the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
Freeholder Dawn Marie Addiego, who serves as liaison to the Council, said, “This is an opportunity to honor women who are not only high achievers, but who also have made a difference in the lives of other women and the Burlington County community.”
Nominees are being sought in several categories: Education; Government, Public Service or Volunteerism; Journalism, Arts or Entertainment; Law, Business or Entrepreneur; Medicine or Health Service, and Social Service.
“The advisory council is looking for women who have made significant contributions in their chosen field, as well as having demonstrated their support of women. For example, women who are mentors, role models or advocates helping other women realize their goals,” Addiego said.

Nomination forms can be obtained by contacting Kim Mattson at (609) 702-7086 or by visiting the website at www.co.burlington.nj.us/bcacw.
The Advisory Council on Women Chair Ann Macready noted that the Council’s Women’s Walk in September raised $5,000 to help prevent homelessness. About 80 people participated in the walk at Historic Smithville Park.
