Volunteers Needed to 'Just Pick it Up'

The NJ AmeriCorps Watershed Program has partnered with the Burlington County Freeholders, Pinelands Preservation Alliance and Rancocas Conservancy to sponsor this spring cleanup. Individuals, families, students and groups are invited to help restore the Rancocas State Park to its natural beauty.
As part of the County Clean Communities’ “Just Pick it Up” campaign, volunteers will have the opportunity to discover and get to know the park, have fun outdoors, and make a difference “in their own backyard.” Gloves and bags will be provided, and students can receive certificates for community service.
Volunteers are advised to wear long pants, long sleeved shirts, sturdy shoes and socks. The event will be postponed until the next day (March 16) ONLY in the event of severe weather conditions.
Rancocas State Park is located at the end of Rancocas Avenue off Marne Highway. Register for the cleanup by contacting Tony Tancini at (609)859-8860 x17 or Tony.ws19@yahoo.com.
Burlington County Clean Communities will sponsor two additional cleanup events this spring: Saturday, March 29, 9 a.m. -1 p.m. at Crystal Lake Park in Mansfield, and Saturday, April 5, 9 a.m. -1 p.m. at Amico Island Park in Delran.
