Kite Flying Day Coming

by Press Release--Burlington County | Sep 21, 2008
Kite Flying Day Coming Visitors will be invited to watch professional kite fliers demonstrate their skills - and encouraged to try their own kite flying maneuvers - during Burlington County’s third annual Day of Kiting on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pennington Park on Creek Road in Delanco.

Sponsored by the Freeholders, the free, family-fun event at the park along the Rancocas Creek features something for everyone, including impressive stunt flying demonstrations, live entertainment, a free raffle to win a kite, and refreshments for sale. The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 5.

Members of the South Jersey Kite Flyers will decorate the sky with kites of varying shapes, sizes and colors. Pick up flying tips from the pros. A section of the park will be reserved for visitors who want to join the fun by bringing their own kite or buying one at the event. Free kites will be given to children while supplies last, and kids can decorate them in the pavilion.

Entertainment will be provided by Jersey Bound, a southern rock cover band that plays everything from Lynyrd Skynyrd to The Band, John Cougar and The Eagles. For more information, call (609) 265-5068.
