Great Estates: Majestic Manor
Gardner/Fox Associates, Inc. took a historic, yet modern approach when renovating this shingle style Victorian in Wayne. The home was originally designed by Horace Trumbauer, an architect responsible for Philadelphia’s Museum of Art and many buildings on Duke University’s campus. Inspired by vintage photographs obtained from the Radnor Historical Society, Gardner/ Fox created a design that would mimic something you may have seen circa 1893. The work included a two-story addition, a garage and new heating and cooling systems. They even went as far as to use historically accurate finishes and fixtures for both the interior and exterior. The finished product boasts a modern take on classic architecture.
